Although Sheffield is known as a great northern city – and local take great pride to be from Yorkshire  – but if you look on the map, you will see that Sheffield is actually located right in the middle of the UK, with great transport links to the rest of the country. 

Travelling by Air

Travelling by Train / Coach

The University's City Campus (conference venue) is in the centre of Sheffield, immediately opposite both the train and bus stationThe train and coach stations are clearly signposted at every airport in the UK. Follow the signs or ask at the information desk. Visit National Rail Enquiries for times and fares to travel by train, or call 08457 48 49 50. Visit the National Express website for current information on coach times, fares and to book tickets.

Directions from the train station to the conference venue  

  • leave the station and walk up the sloping walkway, with the large metal fountain on your right
  • cross the pedestrian crossings and continue straight on up the slope (Howard Street)
  • at the top you will see the University's main entrance on your right

Directions from the bus station (Transport Interchange) to the conference venue

  • walk down Pond Street in the direction of the train station
  • turn right immediately after the Howard pub, and continue up the slope (Howard Street)
  • at the top you will see the University's main entrance on your right

Car parking

There is limited on-street pay and display parking on Arundel Street. Daily subsidised car parking next to SHU are also available at two of the car parks closest to the campus.

  • The NCP car park on Arundel Gate is just next door to City Campus. You can park there from just £4.50 on weekdays and £7 at weekends. To claim this discounted rate, just scan your yellow parking chip at our main reception in Owen Building at City Campus. Take the exit towards Arundel Gate to get to our campus.
  • The ACPOA car park on Eyre Street is a five-minute walk from City Campus. You can park there for just £3.50 when visiting us. Just scan your blue chip at our main reception in Owen Building at City Campus to claim the discount.

If you're a blue badge holder, you can arrange parking at either campus by phoning them Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30 and 16:30 on 0114 225 3868.
